I'm Abhinav, and welcome to my blog.
I post about experiences, hobbies, history, science, football, trips, music and pretty much everything I find fascinating.
Recently, I had been looking up how I could get into an good school for my undergraduate program and I must impress upon you that the only two things I learnt was that one, the battle was going to be uphill as it is for everyone else, and two, I needed to get moving, NOW - prep for SAT, GRE, TOEFL and what not. But one thing that caught my eye was that on Harvard's website, mentioned was that pure academic records did not carry as much clout as I had presumed. In fact, an all-rounder with a wide range of skills and hobbies had a much higher chance of acceptance than a nerd with a perfect academic record. Well, that was the chicken soup for me that day, because now, I at least had a shot at getting in. And owning a blog would look nice on my application, and so you are reading this today.
Right now, as all of sane mankind is staying indoors due to the bane that is the COVID-19, schools have given over two months off and ideally, I should be hunched over my textbooks, breaking my head. But I am not, for I am human and am doing nothing but whiling away my time, reading Glimpses of World History by Jawaharlal Nehru (astonishingly brilliant piece of work, given he wrote that while he was in prison, great man) and The Elegant Universe by Brian Greene, watching Friends on Netflix (S10), and of course, playing Rummy with my brother and, in essence, doing absolutely nothing worthwhile. We live in India, and generally, a student in 10th grade is supposed to study all year for the Boards and anything otherwise is anathema. But, thankfully, I have chill parents who give me the freedom I need to make my own decisions and, so I am chilling here, living my life to the fullest hehe.
But duty calls and I must answer that call, so I drew up a schedule and I will begin my efforts to bring me my one true aspiration for the year - to get perfect marks this year. Hopefully. I must say, with this kind of 'hardwork', it seems but a pipe dream.
And here, I set out on my quest for glory, hoping I will work harder in the days to come.

Wow!!! You are going to make an amazing writer. To put the thoughts into writing is something commendable. Not everyone can do it. I liked the flow and the transparent nature of writing.
All the best to be the topper and for your Harvard dreams!!!
